How to apply for outside agency funding and scholarships available through the Brighton Legacy Foundation

Please Note: All funding amounts are subject to spending limits, and change annually.

The Brighton Legacy Foundation accepts funding requests for three categories of funding—Outside Agencies, Youth Organizations, and City of Brighton Sponsored Organizations. Each category has its own specific policies and procedures. Please be sure to review these policies prior to completing your funding request to ensure your request falls within the acceptable parameters set forth.

Funding Types

Organization Grant Funding (for Outside Agencies AND City of Brighton Sponsored Groups/Organizations)

Outside Agency Grant Request Application (Use this form if you are a first time applicant only)

Outside Agency Grant Request Application Short Form (THIS SHORT FORM IS ONLY FOR GRANT APPLICANTS WHO APPLIED FOR 2016 FUNDING AND SUBMITTED FULL FINANCIAL INFORMATION)

City Sponsored Group Grant Request Application (CITY OF BRIGHTON GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS ONLY)

2016 Submission Timeline: Applications accepted beginning September 1, 2016 — Deadline: Extended to Friday, October 21, 2016

NOTE: NEW applicant organizations are also required to present their funding request in person to the Brighton Legacy Foundation Board of Directors. Interview times will be scheduled during the Board’s November 18, 2016 meeting.

Additionally, the Foundation Board reserves the right to request financial documentation at any time during the grant review process, and if a returning organization has not presented its request via a Board interview within the past two years, the Foundation Board reserves the right to require a presentation of the grant request by a representative of the organization to the Foundation Board.


Scholarship Funding

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicant must reside within School District 27J
  2. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  3. Applicant must be accepted at a college, university, technical, or vocational school
  4. Applicant may not be a relative of a member of the Legacy Foundation Board of Directors

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must be enrolled in an instate community college, university or technical school
  • Applicant must have completed at least one semester of college
  • Applicant must have at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  • Applicant must be a resident of Brighton, CO
  • Applicant may not be a relative of a member of the Legacy Foundation Board of Directors

How to Apply

  1. Download and complete the Application
  2. Attach a copy of your official transcript
  3. Attach two letters of recommendation (do not include letters from relatives)
  4. Attach a resume that lists school-related and community service activities
